English Language
This workshop series is based on a curriculum to teach and refresh the English skills of staff in the international development sector. After a basic refreshment of the most important grammar topics, the focus remains very practical with real case scenarios to apply the new knowledge in module 2 and 3. While the focus is on English in the context of NGOs, the course is designed for professionals of all areas.


Module 1: Crash Course English Grammar
This module intends to provide a basic overview over the most important grammar topics: tenses, adverbs and adjectives, active and passive, conditionals, relative clauses or gerunds and infinitives.
Module 2: Applied English
For the second part of this workshop series, the learners are presented with real world scenarios (mostly linked to their work background) and asked to apply their English skills. Examples include but are not limited to:
1: Drafting a grant proposal to approach donors
2: Preparing a presentation to showcase their work
3: Group interactions to discuss potential future project ideas
Module 3: Business English and English for Career Purposes
The last part of this series is voluntary. It concentrates on English for career purposes and Business English. From practicing job interviews, writing professional letters or drafting resumes, this modules is relatively flexible and content greatly depends on what the participants require.
