Resilience

This practical workshop series intends to equip participants with the necessary knowledge on resilience to then foster empowering self-reflection. Overall, the aim is to go inwards and work on a solid emotional as well as mental foundation to recover from setbacks: the "rock".

Module 1: What is Resilience?

The first part of this series on resilience centers around the question what resilience actually represents. The sessions reflect on different approaches how to define it, what role personal experiences play and, how the cultural background may affect the perception of what it means to be resilient.

Module 2: The Rock Method

During the second module, the participants explore the "Rock Method" and how everybody can take simple steps to become more resilient. While based on theoretical ideas, it is important to highlight that this module is very practical. Being guided by the workshop facilitator, the participants are relatively free to explore in both group as well as individual tasks.

Module 3: Building your Rock

While the first two modules provided a basic understanding of the key concepts around resilience, the last module invites participants to engage with particular areas of life through reflection in groups or individually. The overall task is to identify patterns of thinking or emotional blockages by engaging with statements through either journaling, discussing or visualization. The areas dealt with depend on the participants' preferences but must include the relationship with both oneself as well as others.
